Start From Model
The GROW model was proposed by John Whitmer in 1992 and has become one of the most widely used models in the field of corporate coaching. The basic GROM model comes from the acronym of a four-stage model of decision making, that is, the initials of the four English words Goal, Reality, Option and Will.
GROW means growth, helping employees to grow.
G(Goal setting): represents the confirmation of employee performance goals
R (Reality Check) is the current situation, to figure out the current situation, objective facts are what; looking for motivation
O(Options) represents the search for solutions
W (Way Forward) represents the development of action plans and review time

The Grow model can be used in many different areas of life. Its main purpose is to clarify the current situation, to reduce the interference of certain things, and to enable the performer to find a way to cope from within
01
GOAL
To practice self-discipline, first you need a goal, any goal will do.

In the beginning, you can help you achieve it more easily by having simple goals. If you don't have the habit of self-discipline in the beginning, and you set your goals too ambitious, you will lose the motivation to discipline yourself because you can't reach them.

Therefore, at the beginning of the self-discipline habit, you can start with simple goals, and as you accomplish each small goal, you can continue to build a sense of accomplishment, and you will gradually enjoy self-discipline in life.

You can simply divide your goals into two categories.
Short-term goal: Become a self-disciplined person
Short-term goal: Develop a good habit of reading every day without outside distractions.

The order of setting short-term goals and long-term goals can be decided by you, personally I am used to start with "what kind of goal do you want to achieve" and then "divide it into many small goals", by completing small goals to get a sense of achievement step by step, and at the same time in the process of continuous At the same time, in the process of completing, eventually unknowingly achieve the "long-term goals" I want to achieve.
02
REALITY
Clarify the current situation, the efforts we have made so far and the results we have obtained, identify the obstacles faced, and reassess whether your goals are realistic. Look at the problem based on the reality of the situation, not your personal subjective impressions. The status quo may be that there are too many distractions around you, that you are tired from work every day and just want to brush shake, short videos, or that the atmosphere in the dormitory is bad and you can't read quietly, noisy, etc. Their own mood will often be disturbed by the outside world, will be low, anxious and worried about the future.
03
OPTIONS
How do we get from the status quo to the goal. Through brainstorming, we let various approaches emerge, and then we think deeply and carefully to evaluate these options and determine which ones are feasible. Then we can evaluate the options and determine which ones are feasible and finally come up with a solution.

p.s. We recommend trying fake ideas and adding the word "what if" to get yourself to think outside of the existing conditions.

eg: Ask yourself, "What obstacles do you need to address first to ensure that the action plan is implemented successfully?" Read in a different environment, such as a library, a quiet cafe, or a park with birds and flowers.
04
WAY FORWARD
Determine which programs are the best course of action and move forward to achieve our goals.

List your annual plan, weekly plan, and daily plan. Advance your goals one step at a time

Start From Yourself
Start From Yourself
Self-discipline means self-discipline and self-regulation to correct your thoughts and behaviors in order to improve yourself. For students, this means keeping themselves focused on their classes and assignments, not getting distracted during their studies, and making sure they finish their assignments on time. Here are six steps to develop self-discipline
1 / Know your strengths and weaknesses
If you are aware of the types of projects you like and dislike, you can develop a planned self-discipline strategy. Start by anticipating that you may struggle with a particular subject or project. Then make a plan to limit the things that might distract you, add a reward system, and schedule thunderous study periods in your weekly schedule.
2 / Know when you are most motivated
When you feel good and complete an assignment effortlessly, take a moment to think about what makes you feel relaxed and make a note of that. Is it the music currently playing? Is it a specific time of day? Or is it the fact that you got up early so you had time to eat a great breakfast? Noticing these factors that motivate you to study and planning accordingly in conjunction with them can make learning twice as effective.
3 / Become aware of what distracts you
When you find yourself distracted, make a note of the things that distract you so that you don't get into the same situation again. For example, if your roommate always comes home in the evening and you get distracted by talking to him, don't schedule your studies for that time of day. Another example is if you find that skipping lunch makes you dizzy, then make sure you eat lunch at the right time.
4 / Keep a positive mindset
If you feel like you are straying from your plan, don't lose hope! Don't be discouraged if you find yourself unable to control your behavior and are once again drawn away by distractions. Take note of the situation and challenge yourself not to let something like this happen again. Think positive, learn from your experiences, and play to your strengths! Keeping a positive mindset goes a long way in achieving academic success.
5 / Get support
A great way to stop distractions while studying is to join a study group that focuses on completing assignments or reading. You can also let your family, friends and roommates know you're studying so they don't distract you.
You can also set deadlines and reminders in your phone calendar. Set screen time limits for some apps so you can avoid spending too much time on social media.
6 / Improve time management skills
Excellent time management skills can help you reduce procrastination and stress, achieve goals, and make your leisure time more enjoyable because you do not have to worry about what else is waiting for you to complete. Focus on improving time management skills can enhance self-discipline.
